Introduction of an ordinance amending Chapter 82 (Streets, Sidewalks and other Public Places), Article I of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, to add new provisions relating to minor encroachments into City rights of way (neighborhood entry signs, landscaping and similar appurtenances). 
  2. Introduction of an ordinance amending and readopting Chapter 90, Article II, Division 1, Section 90-33 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to classification and taxation of certain real property in the City of Fairfax used for or zoned for commercial and industrial purposes, and to establish a separate tax rate on such real property effective as of January 1, 2017, revenues from which would be used exclusively for transportation purposes that benefit the City of Fairfax.
  3. Introduction of an ordinance amending Chapter 102, Article II, Sections 102-31(b) of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia to increase wastewater rates by 10.0%

  1. Public hearing and Council action on a request from Adorers of the Holy Cross, applicant, by Sister Trinh Nguyen, Agent, for consideration of a renewal of a Special Use Permit pursuant to City Code Section 110-3.3.1 to allow a day care center (Busy Bee Child Care Center) in the RM Residential Medium zoning district on the premises known as 10917 Marilta Court and more particularly described as Tax Map Parcel(s) 47-3-08-03-011. 
  2. Public hearing and Council action on an ordinance amending Section 98-1 of the Code of the City of Fairfax, Virginia, pertaining to state motor vehicle laws. 
  3. Public hearing on the City's proposed FY 2017-18 Budget.

Public hearings.

  1. Public hearing and Council action on a request by Epicure Café for a special use permit for dancing and entertainment located at 11104 Lee Highway. 
  2. Public hearing on the proposed FY 2017-18 advertised real estate tax rate of $1.0645 per $100 of assessed value, a $0.0025 increase from the current city adopted rate of $1.062. The difference between the equalized tax rate and the proposed tax rate would be $0.013 per $100, or 1.3 percent. This difference will be known as the “effective tax rate increase.” Individual property taxes may, however, increase at a percentage greater than or less than the above percentage.

  3. Public hearing on the City's proposed FY 2017-18 Budget.
