Project Updates

  • Prior to submitting a formal application, the developer has submitted preliminary plans and held a work session with the Planning Commission on June 11 and will be presenting to City Council on July 10.

Background

The project has not been formally submitted for review at this time. The current plan being presented to staff, Planning Commission and City Council for comment proposes to redevelop six parcels including the Breezeway Motel, Fairfax Garden Apartments and 4 single family homes into 74 townhomes with live-work units along Fairfax Boulevard.

Requests

No formal requests have been made at this time. The current proposal would require a Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map amendment from Business-Commercial and Residential - Low to Transitional and Residential – High, and a rezoning from CR Commercial Retail, RMF Multifamily and RH Residential High to PD-M Planned Development Mixed Use, with the Architectural Control Overlay District to remain. At this time, based on the conceptual level of the plans, staff cannot determine if special exceptions or waivers may be requested.
