Input from the people we serve is very important and aids the Department in our continuing evaluation of the services we provide. Your comments, critical and complimentary, are very useful in ensuring that we perform our mission as efficiently, effectively and professionally as possible. Voice a Commendation

To COMMEND a member of the Department please choose one of the following methods.

1. Fill out the Online Citizen Commendation / Complaint / Concern Form

2. Download a copy of the Citizen Commendation / Complaint / Concern Form in PDF Format. Complete it by hand and please drop it off at police headquarters or mail it to:

3. Send us an e-mail message. You may share your comments in simple note form. The Police Department will reply to your note by return e-mail.

4. You may share a compliment verbally by contacting the Office of the Chief of Police at 703.385.7960. You may be asked if we can direct your call to an on-duty supervisor or commander in order to better determine the officer or employee whose assistance you are commending. 

Voice a Complaint about Police Department Member

To make a COMPLAINT, you may choose from a number of communication options:

1. For your convenience and to assist the Department in quickly gathering the necessary information to begin an investigation, you may use the Online Citizen Commendation / Complaint / Concern Form.  You will receive a written reply to your complaint.

2. You may download a copy of the Citizen Commendation / Complaint / Concern Form in PDF Format. Complete it by hand and please drop it off at police headquarters or mail it to:

You will receive a written reply to your complaint. (To request a hard copy of this form mailed to you, please call 703.385.7960 or email).

3. You are not required to make a formal written complaint for the Police Department to investigate the conduct or actions of an employee. If you choose, you may make a complaint in writing (typically a letter) to preserve a record of your report. You may deliver your complaint in person or mail it to:

4. You may make a complaint verbally by contacting the Office of the Chief of Police at 703.385.7960. You may be asked if we can direct your call to an on-duty supervisor or commander in order to assist you immediately.
