Project Description: 

 This project provides for the reconstruction and repaving of Fairfax Boulevard between Rebel Run and Fairfax Circle and replacing the wearing surface of the bridge deck for Bridge #1800 (Fairfax Boulevard over Accotink Creek), 0.1 miles west of Draper Drive.

Fairfax Boulevard Roadway Reconstruction Project Notification 

 This notice is to inform you that Arthur Construction Company, Inc. will be doing roadway reconstruction work on Fairfax Boulevard (Route 50) between Rebel Run and Fairfax Circle starting on or about Sunday, July 13, 2014.  The work will take approximately eight (8) days to complete and will occur entirely at night (weekdays 8 pm–5 am and weekends 9 pm–5 am). 

There will be two (2) lanes shut down at a time, but access to businesses will remain open.  There may be instances when certain business entrances will be blocked for 10-15 minutes, but Arthur will ensure that nearby entrances remain open for customer access. 

Milling and paving will occur first on the eastbound lanes followed by the westbound lanes.  Striping will be done after the paving phase is complete and will require only one (1) lane to be shut down at a time.
