To Report a Community Concern/Problem
If you have questions or concerns about community issues — such as traffic problems, questions about laws or police department policy, abandoned vehicles, or suggestions on how we can better serve you — please contact the Community Policing Team; assigned to your neighborhood or the area where the problem is occurring.
Visit the Community Policing page for the appropriate team leader's email address and phone number. This is the quickest, most efficient way to report your concerns.
Include as many details as possible to help us fully understand the issue and provide the information necessary to take proper action.
To Submit an Employee/Department Commendation or Non-Criminal Complaint
1. Form: Fill out and submit the online Complaint Commendation Concern Form.
2. Mail: Download a PDF copy of the Complaint Commendation Concern Form, fill it out, and mail it to:

4. Phone. Call the Office of the Police Chief at 703-385-7960. You may be directed to an on-duty supervisor or commander who can assist you immediately
Please note: You are not required to make a formal written complaint for the Police Department to investigate your complaint. However, you may share your commendation or complaint in writing (letter or email) to preserve a record of your report. You will receive a written reply to your complaint.
