City of Fairfax, VA
Home MenuPhoto Enforcement
Fairfax City has two important programs to help monitor unsafe driving and encourage drivers to follow traffic laws: Respect Red, in which cameras are installed at city road intersections with high rates of traffic incidents due to red light violations; and Speed Enforcement, in which cameras are installed in school zones and road construction zones in the city.
Signs near the intersections inform drivers of the camera locations. Multiple cameras monitor traffic at these intersections. Numerous people, including city police officers, review evidence before citations are issued to the registered owner of the vehicle.
