If you have lost your property in the city, or found someone else's property, the City of Fairfax Police Department can help, even if no criminal activity has occurred.

Lost Property

If you have lost property in Fairfax City, you may contact the police department to see if anyone has turned it in. (If you lost it while riding a CUE Bus, click here for information, or visit cuebus.org.)

Found Property

If you find someone else's lost property, please bring it promptly to the Police Department. An officer will secure the property in the Property Section, try to identify the owner, and return the property to them.

The Property Section is located in the City of Fairfax Police Department station, 3730 Blenheim Blvd. Office hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays. Information: email, 703-385-7829

After Hours

When the Property Section is closed, please visit Police Dispatch in the police station, and an officer will be assigned to the case. Information: 703-385-7924

The Police Department strictly adheres to federal, state, and city laws and regulations concerning the destruction, disposal, and return of property. Virginia Code requires certain property not claimed must be reported and then forwarded to the Division of Unclaimed Property for the Commonwealth of Virginia. Information: email, 703-385-7829
