The following will be applicable when fingerprinting services resume.
The City of Fairfax Police Department offers fingerprinting service for those who live and work in the city.
IMPORTANT: if you seek fingerprinting for immigration services, please contact the U.S. Department of Justice (202-514-2000) or U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services.
If you live or work in Fairfax County, contact the Fairfax County Central Records Office at 703-246-2272. Otherwise, contact your local police department, sheriff’s office, or the Virginia State Police.
Fairfax City Fingerprinting FAQs
- When can I be fingerprinted? Appointments are required, and scheduled from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays (excluding holidays). Call 703-385-7955 to schedule your appointment; messages left on voicemail regarding appointments or other questions will be returned as soon as possible.
- Where do I go? The Records Office in the City of Fairfax Police Station, 3730 Blenheim Blvd., Fairfax, VA 22030. Please let staff know when you arrive in the station lobby.
- What do I need to bring with me?
- Current form of government-issued photo identification, such as a driver’s license or passport.
- Fingerprint cards provided by your employer. Please fill out the top of the card before your appointment.
- Payment in cash or check. See below for details.
- Do I need to bring my own fingerprint cards? No, we will provide FD-258 fingerprint cards if needed. However, this will add 5-10 minutes to your appointment (to fill out the top of the card).
- How much does fingerprinting cost? $10 for the first card and $5 for each additional card that is printed.
