This moderated discussion with renowned novelist Thomas Mallon and composer Gregory Spears explores Fellow Travelers, which tells the poignant, searing story of two men who fall in and out of love during the McCarthy Era "Lavender Scare" in the 1950s. Learn about the history and novel which inspired the opera (and an upcoming television event), and what to listen for in an upcoming Virginia Opera production February 4-5 at the Center for the Arts. Followed by a Q&A with the audience, this free event is also an open-to-the-public presentation of the Friends of the Center for the Arts Artists in Conversation Series.
