In addition to our emergency incident response responsibilities, the City of Fairfax Fire Department is committed to creating a safer, healthier, and more resilient community through our community risk reduction programs.

Community risk reduction is a collective goal of each division of our organization — Operations, Office of Code Administration, Office of Emergency Management, and the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department — to decrease the frequency our services are needed through education and prevention programs. We strive towards achieving this goal by working tirelessly to identify and prioritize our community’s risks, develop programs and mitigate strategies to address these risks, and measure the results of our efforts annually to ensure we are positively impacting these risks.
