Fairfax City has launched the Small Area Plan for the Fairfax Circle Area. This small area plan should take about a year to complete, and your input is crucial for every step along the way — starting with the first meeting on June 15.
Small Area Plans provide specific guidance for the desired mix of uses, residential density, building density, design aesthetic, street locations, multimodal connections, infrastructure improvements, parking, and open space. Each plan is the culmination of months of research, analysis, and meetings with stakeholders, property owners, city representatives, and the public.
Make your first stop the Fairfax Circle Small Area Plan Engage page (engage.fairfaxva.gov/fairfax-circle-small-area-plan). Engage subscribers can ask questions, drop a pin in the map and leave a comment, review the project documents and schedule, and more. Please subscribe to Engage to participate in all Engage page functions, and to receive updates after the first public meeting.
You are invited to the first public meeting, scheduled for 7-9 p.m. June 15 at Fairfax High School, 3501 Lion Run.

As recommendations of the completed plans move forward, we now turn to Fairfax Circle as the next activity center where a unified vision is needed to help guide private investment and public priorities for the next 15 years.
The city is thankful to everyone who helped shape the plans for Old Town, Northfax and Kamp Washington — and hope you will continue to share your thoughts for Fairfax Circle. We look forward to working with you on this exciting area of the city!
