The public is invited to the open house from 5-7 p.m. July 19 to discuss the type of path, landscaping, and other features of the Fern Street Neighborhood Connection. Meet on-site in the grassy area between Route 29 and Park Road.
The project would construct a new biking and walking connection between Route 29 and Park Road in the Westmore neighborhood. The path and landscaping improvements would be installed in the grassy area owned by the city, adjacent to the Fairfax Junction shopping center parking lot.
This connection was recommended in the Kamp Washington Small Area Plan, the product of a yearlong effort to develop specific recommendations for land uses, a street network, public amenities, and other related elements in the Kamp Washington Activity Center.
