SPOTLIGHT ON THE ARTS FESTIVAL - April 25 - April 28 OPENING RECEPTION - Friday, April 26 at 7 pm at Old Town Hall (tickets required)
Fairfax is brimming with artists in every genre and, in 2024, Spotlight on the Arts will showcase their incredible talent over one arts-filled, extended 4-day weekend!
The City of Fairfax has become synonymous with a dynamic and vibrant art scene due, in part, to the success and reputation of its Spotlight on the Arts festival. With award-winning public art installations, its own theatre company, and an acclaimed Arts Academy for high school students, our city understands how important a thriving arts community is to both residents and visitors alike.
In 2024, Spotlight on the Arts is once again proud to present a wide variety of music, theatre, dance, visual, and literary art performances at beautiful venues throughout the city! Why not catch a cabaret at Old Town Hall, hula dancing at Old Town Square, New York Times bestselling author Chris Bohjalian at The Sherwood Center, an Open Jam Night at Earp’s Ordinary, and Anastasia: The Musical at Fairfax High School? Our schedule of events is ever-expanding so be sure to check back often and mark your calendars!
Those attending the Opening Reception will be able to participate in our Inaugural Art Contest! Each attendee receives 1 ballot and will be able to view and vote for their favorite piece of art! Enjoy an evening of music, hors d'oeuvres & dessert buffet, and refreshments. We will also be introducing our Spotlight Honoree for 2024, Sharon Petersen, and we'll be honoring our very special former mayor John Mason, whom sadly we lost this year, and who devoted himself to Spotlight as a founding member and former President.
Won't you join us this weekend as we celebrate, and support, the arts in the City of Fairfax?
