In addition to our emergency incident response responsibilities, the City of Fairfax Fire Department is committed to creating a safer, healthier, and more resilient community through our community risk reduction programs. Community risk reduction is a collective goal of each division of our organization, (Operations, Office of Code Administration, Office of Emergency Management, and the Fairfax Volunteer Fire Department), to decrease the frequency our services are needed through education and prevention programs. We strive towards achieving this goal by working tirelessly to identification and prioritization our community’s risks, developing programs and mitigation strategies to address these risks, and annually measuring the results of our efforts to ensure we are positively impacting these risks.

Below are links to Health Education information to improve our community's knowledge towards disease prevention. All information included on our website has been gathered from reputable health care resources, such as the Center for Disease Control (CDC), but everyone is encouraged to reach out to their primary care physician to discuss their specific needs and approach to managing any potential illnesses or diseases.
