Emergency declarations surrounding COVID-19 have expired.
That affects the availability of some services and programs. For example, free at-home COVID-19 tests are no longer provided by the federal government. However, medical providers continue to offer COVID-19 testing, which typically is covered by health insurance.
The virus that causes COVID-19 is still with us. The Fairfax Health District continues to encourage vaccination and actions such as staying home when sick, covering coughs and sneezes, knowing when to test, masking, and other healthy habits, especially for those who are vulnerable to severe illness.
Please be respectful of others' decisions on masks, social distancing, and other health practices.
